1. Who is required to obtain a Permit?

Any person, firm, corporation or other legal entity requiring access to a Miami-Dade County airport in order to (a) transact business with an airline, other airport tenant, including concessions or (b) other customers located outside of the Airport, if the commercial activities or business is made possible by accessing Airport grounds, must first be authorized in writing by obtaining a Permit Agreement issued by Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD).

2. Is the Permit required in order to conduct business at Miami International Airport and also at the General Aviation Airports?

Yes, the General Aviation Airports are owned and operated by Miami-Dade County and therefore, the Permit is required.

3. Can I conduct business at Miami International Airport (MIA) and at the General Aviation Airports (GAAs) under the same Permit?

No, two separate Permits will be required in order to conduct business at MIA and at the GAAs.

4. Am I required to obtain a Permit, even if I will not need to access Airport ramp/gates (Airside Operations Area of the Airport) or the Airport terminal building?

Yes, the Permit must be obtained by any person or company requiring access to any property, area, facility and space (including the cargo area) owned and operated by Miami-Dade County.

5. Do I need to obtain a Permit in order to provide subcontracted services at the Airport?

Yes, subcontractors must have written authorization from MDAD (by means of a Permit) in order to provide goods and services at the Airport. Subcontractors must perform the work under its own Permit.

6. I deliver ground support equipment and other items to Airport tenants. Am I still required to obtain a Permit, since I don’t perform any work at the Airport?

Yes, you must obtain a Permit, if the delivery service is conducted regularly.
